At East Tennessee Orthodontics whether you are excited about colors, want it to be hard to see your braces, or want a completely invisible option we are all about choices.  We want to take the time to educate you about all the options and recommendations for treatment so you will always be comfortable with your decision.  Remember, our initial consultations are always free of charge.

This is treatment of kids when they still have baby teeth and is sometimes necessary for problems that arise early so issues don’t compound leading to more difficult and expensive treatment later.  We even have a special Mountain Climbers Club designed for our younger patients.

These aren’t the braces you remember from childhood.  Technology in braces and wires have improved dramatically over the past 15 years.  Some of the improvements have been braces that have doors that close called self-ligating braces (sometimes also known as Damon braces) and wires that are super flexible and have a shape memory.  This allows for longer intervals between appointments and less soreness during treatment.  We are still able to place colored rubber bands on the braces at each appointment if desired.  Dr. Trisler also doesn’t routinely use bands around teeth on so no spacers or separators are typically placed for braces saving appointments and discomfort.

For those who don’t want to show off their braces, we offer braces made out of a translucent ceramic material.  These braces when mixed with special tooth colored wires offer the same great results but are hardly visible.

For those that want a unique look, the braces can be mixed with colored rubber bands for a splash of color that really stands out.

Invisalign®, Invisalign Teen®, and Invisalign First®offer a virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth.  This treatment involves a series of clear plastic aligners that are changed every 1-2 weeks.  These trays can be removed for meals, brushing, and during activities such as sports or playing an instrument.  The interval between appointments is also typically longer during treatment.  With Invisalign®, unlike traditional braces, there are no limitations on eating and you can brush and floss like you did before.  No need for impressions either with our Itero® Digital Scanner making goopy impressions a thing of the past.  These are more accurate and allow for better fitting aligners.

Just like cola can be made by Coke, Pepsi, or other companies, clear aligners are produced by numerous companies.  We can also produce our very own ETO aligners for certain types of treatment using digital impressions and 3D printing.  Our goal is to give you the best result using the most cost-effective method.  You can rest assured this isn’t “at home” treatment you purchased over the internet.   This is supervised treatment by a highly trained dental specialist so you can be confident in the treatment and the results

These braces are for those who truly want to keep their treatment a secret.  These lingual braces are placed on the back-side or tongue side of your teeth.  You can straighten your teeth without anyone ever knowing.
