At East Tennessee Orthodontics we have gone impression free.  No more goopy, gaggy dental impressions in our office.  We are now using digital dental scanners and 3D printing for all our appliances, clear aligners, and retainers.

With old impressions, stone models where then made.  These models are typically destroyed when making retainers and so the entire process needs to be redone for all future retainers.  This can be problematic if retainers are lost and teeth shift.  ETO uses digital impressions and 3D printed models that we provide to our patients allowing us to make future retainers off these more durable, reusable models.  We also save a digital copy of our patients following treatment.  This allows us to easily and more cost-effectively provide future retainers to our graduated patients.
